PLUMEFORM VS TALLY

The other honest one.

We like Tally. It is indie, generously free, and allergic to dark patterns, which makes this the comparison where we have to be the most honest, because philosophically we are neighbors. The real difference is the job. Tally is a form builder: applications, lead capture, payments, registrations, built like Notion pages. Plumeform is a survey platform: questionnaires people finish, with the data-quality machinery around them. Where those jobs overlap, here is how the two actually compare.

PICK TALLY IF

  • Raw free volume is the whole question. Tally's free plan has unlimited submissions; ours has 250 a month.
  • You are collecting payments inside a form. Plumeform does not do payments.
  • You want a custom domain today. Tally Pro has it; ours is still on the roadmap.
  • You love the Notion-style document builder, or need team collaboration now.

PICK PLUMEFORM IF

  • The thing you are building is a survey, and completion and data quality matter more than raw intake.
  • You want the research controls: attention checks, per-page timers, randomization, screening with quotas, consent. Tally has none of these.
  • You want partial responses and drop-off analytics without paying. Both sit behind Tally's $29 plan and are free here.
  • When you do upgrade, $15 buys more than half of $29 does.

THE HONEST MATH

Tally's free submissions. Ours is 250 a month

if free volume is the whole question, Tally wins it and we will not pretend otherwise

$168

saved per year once you upgrade

$29 / mo there vs $15 / mo here, and partials plus drop-off are free here anyway

The questions people actually ask.

Tally is free and unlimited. Why would I pay Plumeform anything?+

If you are collecting applications, leads, or payments at volume, do not pay us, use Tally. Plumeform earns its keep when the thing you are running is a survey: partial capture, drop-off analytics, quality flags, cross-tabs, and both display modes are free here, and the research controls arrive with a $15 plan instead of not at all.

What does Tally have that Plumeform honestly does not?+

Payments inside forms, custom domains, team collaboration, unlimited free volume, and a genuinely pleasant Notion-style builder. If any of those is the requirement, Tally is the right call.

Is Plumeform a form builder too?+

Not really. There are no payment fields and no lead-capture focus. Plumeform is built around questionnaires: how people move through them, whether they finish, and whether the answers can be trusted. Different job, different tool.

Which one is cheaper when I outgrow the free plan?+

Plumeform Pro is $15 a month, or $12 billed yearly, against Tally Pro at $29. And two of the features that push people to Tally Pro, partial submissions and drop-off insights, are free on Plumeform to begin with.
