FOR RESEARCHERS

Research-grade surveys, without the site license.

The quality controls reviewers expect, attention checks, timers, randomization, screening and quotas, informed consent, live on a tool you can start using this afternoon. 250 responses a month free for pilots, 10,000 a month for $15 when the study runs. If your university hands you a Qualtrics license, use it. If the license, the training, and the sales call are the product, this page is for you.

THE QUALITY CONTROLS

Built so your data survives review.

Informed consent gate
A consent screen before the first question. Participants must agree to continue; declining records nothing at all.
Attention checks
Instructed-response items that render like any other question. A wrong pick flags the response in results and exports; nothing is revealed to the participant.
Per-page timers
Enforce a minimum time on any page for forced exposure to stimuli, and every response records its completion time.
Randomization
Shuffle option order with the last option pinned if you need it, and shuffle question order within a page. Seeded per participant, stable within a session.
Screening & quotas
Disqualify participants on their answers and cap segments with quotas enforced server-side, so a race between two respondents cannot overfill a cell.
Quality flags
Speeders (relative to the survey's own median), straight-liners on matrix questions, and failed attention checks are flagged automatically, with a one-click clean-only filter.
Demographics section
Age, gender, education, income and more as a one-toggle section with editable wording, instead of rebuilding the same questions every study.
Panel passthrough
PROLIFIC_PID, STUDY_ID, or any link parameter is captured with each response, shown in results, and included in every export.

PROLIFIC & PANEL WORKFLOW

From recruitment to clean file.

01

Recruit

Post your Plumeform link on Prolific or your panel with the ID parameter appended. IDs are captured automatically with each response.

02

Screen

Screening rules disqualify non-eligible participants early, and quotas close segments as they fill. Screened-out participants see your screen-out code and redirect, and never count against your response volume.

03

Collect

Participants who complete see a completion code and are redirected back to the panel automatically. Partial responses save at every page, so you can see exactly where anyone stopped.

04

Analyze

Every quality signal lands in your CSV or XLSX: status, duration, flags, panel IDs, and one column per question. Filter the flagged rows in one click, then take the clean file to R, SPSS, or Python.

THE HONEST MATH

$144

per year for 10,000 responses a month

Qualtrics' self-serve plan is $5,040 a year, capped at 1,000 responses a year

250

free responses a month, forever

enough to pilot an instrument without touching a card

The questions reviewers ask.

Are responses anonymous?+

By default, yes. Answering never requires an account, and a response contains only the answers, a device class (mobile or desktop), and any link parameters you chose to pass, such as a Prolific ID. Plumeform does not attach names, emails, or IP addresses to responses. If you need identity, you ask for it as a question, which keeps the decision, and the disclosure, yours.

How does the informed consent gate work?+

You write the consent text and the agree and decline labels. Participants who agree continue to the first question; participants who decline see a polite exit and nothing is stored, not even the fact that they declined.

How do Prolific completion codes and screen-outs work?+

Set a completion code and a redirect URL in survey settings, and Plumeform shows the code on the thank-you screen and redirects automatically. Screened-out participants can get a separate code and redirect, so no-consent and quota-full cases resolve cleanly on the panel side.

Can I edit a live study without corrupting collected data?+

Yes. Publishing freezes a version, and every response remembers which version it answered. Fix a typo mid-study and your existing data still lines up.

What does Plumeform not do?+

In-tool statistical modeling, conjoint, and MaxDiff. Analysis beyond summaries, cross-tabs, and quality filtering is meant to happen in your stats package, from our exports. If you need those in the survey tool itself, that is Qualtrics territory, and our comparison page says so.
