Read results and review response quality
Understand counts, question-level timing, missing answers, and the effect of clean-dataset rules.
Start with the dataset in view
The results pages separate the overview, question summaries, individual responses, analysis, quality review, and reports. Check active filters before comparing numbers between views. Completed responses, partial responses, and visits describe different stages of participation and should not be treated as interchangeable counts.
A question’s answer count can be smaller than the completed-response count because it was optional, hidden by logic, or absent from an older survey version. Check which version a participant answered before interpreting a missing value.
Read question health
Question health counts a blank only when Plumeform recorded that the question was shown. Questions hidden by logic are excluded from that blank count. Older responses without exposure records may have answer counts without a reliable seen denominator.
Individual question timing is available on one-question pages and in conversational surveys. Multi-question pages do not have separate dwell times for each question. Median time is the middle recorded duration; p75 is the duration at or below which 75% of recorded timings fall. Check how many timings were captured before interpreting either number.
Review first, then save cleaning rules
Quality flags are prompts for review. A fast completion, repeated pattern, or failed attention check needs context. Inspect the relevant answers and study design before deciding to exclude a response.
Saved clean-dataset rules on Pro define the responses used in dashboard analysis, exports, weekly exports, and shared reports. Exclusion preserves the original response. The Results API and Google Sheets do not automatically apply these rules. On Free, the local hide-flagged option affects the current analysis and its exports rather than becoming a shared cleaning policy.
Keep a record of your exclusion criteria and apply them consistently. The methods appendix can help describe the resulting dataset. Research measures use the current published version and complete-item rules, so review their included and excluded counts separately.
