Collect
Publish, test, and share your survey
Check each survey path, understand draft and published versions, and choose the right link for participants or reviewers.
Check the draft before publishing
The builder saves your draft as you work. Pre-flight checks flag structural problems and possible wording or appearance issues. A clean check does not replace trying the survey yourself.
- 1Wait for the draft to finish saving, then open the full preview.
- 2Try each branch, required question, screen-out, and ending. Check consent and the debrief if enabled.
- 3Preview on a phone as well as a desktop. Check long options, images, translations, and keyboard navigation.
Publish the version participants should see
Publishing creates an immutable survey version. Editing the draft afterward does not change that published version; publish again when the next draft is ready. Stored responses remain associated with the version their participants answered.
You can build and preview Pro features on Free. Publishing checks the workspace’s entitlement and explains any features that need Pro. Avoid changing question meanings midway through collection: keeping the question ID does not make two different questions comparable.
Use test mode on the live link by adding ?test=1, or &test=1 when the link already has a query string. It lets you walk through the participant flow without adding a real response. A test run does not prove that live quotas, duplicate checks, or external deliveries will behave identically.
Choose a participant or reviewer link
The survey link opens the published survey. Use the builder’s Survey link controls to rename its slug; old slugs redirect to the current address. Channel links let you distinguish sources in your results.
A reviewer link gives someone access to a draft preview without a dashboard account. Treat the token in that URL as access: send it only to intended reviewers and revoke it when the review ends. It is different from a participant link or a public aggregate-results link.
To put the survey on your site, use the embed tools for an inline survey, popup, or launcher. For panel recruitment, use the panel launch tools so participant IDs and completion details are carried through correctly.
