Embed a survey on your website or app

Install an inline survey, popup or feedback launcher. Check sizing, pass context and test the embed before collecting responses.

Publish the survey first

Embeds use the published survey. Draft edits will not appear until you publish again. Embedding is available on every plan; the survey’s own feature and response limits still apply.

Choose inline for a survey inside the page, a popup for a button-triggered form, or a launcher for feedback people can open from a persistent control. A narrow embed uses the survey’s responsive layout.

Install an inline survey

Replace your-slug with the published survey slug and include the script once on the page. Put the container where the survey should appear. Your site editor must allow HTML and external scripts; a plain text block will only display the code.

<div data-plumeform="your-slug"></div>
<script async src="https://plumeform.com/embed.js"></script>

Open a popup or drawer

For a popup, add a button with data-plumeform-popup="your-slug" and load the same script. For a floating launcher, add data-plumeform-launcher="your-slug" to the script tag. The optional data-label sets its button text.

For an app-triggered drawer, call the API after the embed script has loaded. Pass only context you intend to store with the response. Use an opaque customer or cohort ID instead of putting sensitive information in a URL.

Plumeform.open("your-slug", {
  mode: "drawer",
  params: { cohort: "onboarding" }
});
// Close a popup or drawer:
Plumeform.close();

Check a small screen and a full completion

Test the published page at phone width, including the keyboard, long questions and the final screen. Give an inline container enough width; avoid a fixed-height wrapper with overflow hidden that can clip the survey.

If nothing appears, confirm the slug opens directly and the script loaded. Check whether your site builder or Content Security Policy blocks the script or frame. If it shows an old question, publish the survey changes. Completed embedded responses appear in the same dashboard as responses collected through the direct link.
