Set up notifications and export results
Configure response emails, weekly CSV delivery, and downloadable datasets without confusing their scopes.
Email yourself or a respondent
In Settings → Delivery, turn on Email me on every new response and enter the recipient address. Free supports one address; Pro supports up to five. For participant confirmations, add an Email question, select it as the address source, and write the subject and message. You can optionally include a copy of their answers.
Use a controlled test address for your first real submission and check what the recipient receives. Consider the sensitivity of the answers before including a copy. Outbound email has daily workspace limits; it is not a substitute for checking the stored results. If mail is missing, check the address, spam folder, and delivery configuration before resubmitting a response.
Send a weekly CSV
Weekly results email is a Pro feature. Enter a recipient address in Settings → Delivery. The scheduled export runs on Mondays from 07:00 UTC and follows the survey’s saved clean-dataset settings. A file too large to attach arrives as a download link that works for seven days. Clear the address to disable it.
The emailed export does not use a temporary filter you happen to have open in a dashboard tab. Make sure the recipient is allowed to receive the dataset, especially when it includes contact information or open-text answers.
Download data and document the method
Use the results export controls for CSV on any plan; on Pro, use XLSX and the codebook or research export options when preparing an analysis. Check active filters and clean-dataset settings before downloading. When weighting is enabled, the Weight column lets you reproduce weighted summaries; the original answers remain unchanged. CSV and XLSX files are prepared in the background: the button shows progress and the download starts when the file is ready. If you leave the page first, the export still finishes and is offered on the results page for seven days.
The methods appendix describes the selected dataset, collection dates, checks, exclusions, and weighting. Review it before including it in a paper or report. It cannot supply recruitment details or decisions you have not recorded in the survey.
Saved cleaning rules affect dashboard analysis, CSV/XLSX exports, weekly exports, and shared reports. The Results API and Google Sheets sync do not automatically follow those cleaning rules. Apply the intended exclusions explicitly when analyzing those destinations.
