How this tool works
Enter four thresholds for the same offer: too cheap, bargain, expensive and too expensive. Rows must be nonnegative and strictly increasing; tied or reversed prices are excluded. The same currency and billing period must apply to every respondent.
The decreasing curves count thresholds at or above each observed price; increasing curves count thresholds at or below it. The lower acceptable bound crosses too-cheap with inverse-bargain; the upper crosses too-expensive with inverse-expensive. Indifference crosses bargain with expensive, and equal price resistance crosses too-cheap with too-expensive.
Crossings are linearly interpolated between observed points, using the first crossing when there is more than one. A crossing that cannot be found is unavailable. Charts show up to 200 sampled points, while calculations use every observed threshold. This is a description of stated price perceptions, not a demand or profit forecast.
The pricing method guide explains how to collect comparable inputs. The original method is Peter H. van Westendorp's Price Sensitivity Meter (ESOMAR, 1976); calculation conventions are stated explicitly here so you can compare tools.
